Rosemary Extract
Rosemary extract is a complex natural substance, rich in a variety of active ingredients. It mainly contains carnosol, rosmarin dialdehyde, epirosmarinol, epirosmarinol methyl ether, carnosic acid, carnosic acid methyl ester, rosmanol, ursolic acid, oleanolic acid and other terpenoids, as well as flavonoids such as apigenin, hesperetin, homocyanin, and geniflorin, as well as phenolic acids such as vanillic acid, caffeic acid, rosmarinic acid, and ferulic acid.
These ingredients are categorised into water-soluble and fat-soluble extracts based on their solubility. Water-soluble extracts include rosmarinic acid, chlorogenic acid, caffeic acid, ferulic acid, L-ascorbic acid, hesperidin and isohesperidin, etc., while lipid-soluble extracts include carnosic acid, carnosol, oleanolic acid, ursolic acid, naringin peel, sesamol, rosmanol, rosmarinic base, isorosmarinic base, 7-ethoxyrosmarinol , 7-methoxy phenol, etc.
The non-volatile components of rosemary exhibit significant antioxidant effects. The antioxidant activity of carnosol is comparable to BHA, while rosemarinol has 5 times the antioxidant activity of BHT and BHA. As a new generation of purely natural antioxidants, rosemary extract eliminates the potential toxic side effects and decomposition issues associated with synthetic antioxidants. Extensive toxicological tests and high-temperature frying experiments have validated its safety, efficiency, heat resistance, and broad-spectrum characteristics.
